We understand that it was a successful race car racing Europe in 2004 before being converted by Halls Garage of Bourne as a ‘Tifosi SS’ in 2018/19. At some point later it was converted to a competition car but remains UK-registered with a V5C in the owner’s file. LBY 810D was initially registered on as a 1098cc MG Midget finished in Bronze according to the DVLA, however, Bronze was not a factory colour at the time so it may have been incorrectly recorded (possibly BRG). Originally the term “Sebring Sprite” was exclusively reserved for Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprites fitted with bodywork in the style of the Speedwell GT, the Donald Healey ‘Works’ cars or John Sprinzel’s pretty little coupes and fitted with disc brakes, however, over time it’s become accepted as a generic description for any member of the ‘Spridget’ family wearing that distinctive bodywork.
